Next March 7 to 14th 2015, I will be joining the Gesundheit! Institute and Patch Adams to Guatemala City, Guatemala.
Humanitarian Clowns travel around the world to enter disadvantaged communities to make difficult situations better. We entertain and provide humor, support, love, understanding, a shoulder to cry on and show that someone really does care. We give back to the communities something that not many have the chance to give : hope and laughter!
During the week I will visit hospitals, nursing homes, schools, public parks, and special needs facilities. We will be joined in our visits by members of the Guatemalan clown organization Fabrica de Sonrisas.

My mission
Healing through laughter
Who is Guy Giard aka Citizen Clown?
For the last 20 years, I've been using humor as an art teacher with children, adults, seniors, Alzheimer patients and individuals with special needs. Last year I clowned in Guatemala and in India. As I clowned with children, I gave them all my creativity, playfulness, joyfulness, deep love and care. I can still feel this compassionate exchanging of love, laughter, tears, hugs, and twinkle in their eyes. I've touched the lives of hundreds of children and their caretakers and I want to keep on giving.
As a child I’ve always asked myself: ‘How is it possible that we send people to the moon while half the planet is starving?’ This feeling comes deep from within me and still resonates loudly today. If you ever dreamt of a better world, I will be your heart and smiles to the people who need love and caring in their most personal hardships. Let me offer you this opportunity, together we can give back to the community!
Let me be your ears, your eyes and your heart, giving loving hugs and care, making this world a better place for all our childrens, young and old.
Total expense for this trip: $1850
Cost paid to the Gesundheit! Institute: $1350 US.
This includes lodging, meals and transportation in Guatemala City
For my flight from Canada to Guatemala,
I used an airmiles promotion and was able to book a much cheaper ticket!
I still need $250 US for the flight.
Total cost of this Humanitarian Trip $1600 US ($1850 CAN)
Thank you for your donations!

India 2014
Back in Montréal, Canada, that is! What a beautiful amazing experience care clowning in India has been, and still is as I am carrying it inside me. I’ve been overseas for more than three weeks, living away from my little family (bless their hearts) while I was being reborn in a new family of 20+ clowns.
In the coming weeks I’ll write down some of the stories of the new souls I now forever carry within my heart: Aspini the young singing Gypsy of Mahabalipuram; Maria begging in an overhead staircase in Vellore; Sebastien my adopted homeless dog in Chennai, and so many others.
